The Norwegian National Opera Orchestra (Operaorkestret) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated piccolo player for the postition of Solo Piccolo. Our 100 member orchestra plays operas, ballets, concerts and has it’s own chamber music series. The flute section has 4 full-time positions.

  A jury will consider the applications once the deadline has passed. The video round should be considered as a first round, and only highly qualified candidates will be invited to audition.

  The audition will take place at the Opera in Oslo on September 18 and 19, 2023. Invitations will be sent out mid August.

  A trial period may be offered as part of the audition process and interviews might be conducted as part of the hiring process.

  Commencement date: by agreement.

Personal letter

Please write a motivation letter where you let us know why you find the position interesting and what you can bring to our orchestra, both as a musician and as a colleague.

The letter should not be longer than one page, and written in English, or Norwegian / Swedish / Danish.

The video must be recorded in one continuous take and must not be edited.

In order to guarantee that the recording has not been edited, it is important to ensure that the candidate is visible throughout the take. The whole instrument should be visible.
