From May 23 to 27, 2022, the XXXVII International Festival of Flutists will be held in Lima, Peru, 17th. Young Flutists Contest and 15th. International Lutherie Workshop.
In this regard, we want to emphasize that our Festival, in addition to enjoying national and international prestige for its continuity and seriousness (37 consecutive years and one hundred and seventy participants from various countries around the world), has become one of the most important festivals not only in the region but of all America, Europe and for five years, Asia. Our main objective is to invite notable masters and doctors in music, flutists, so that they can share their knowledge and experiences with children and young flute students from the National University of Music, private universities, regional conservatories and visitors from neighboring provinces and countries.
During the week, masterclasses, concerts with a symphony orchestra, concerts with a flute orchestra, recitals, conferences, an exhibition of handmade heads, flutes, accessories and a lutheria workshop are offered, thus making Lima the flute center of the region.
Participating in this edition: Carolina Herdin, Germany – Ana Laura Domínguez, Argentina – James Strauss, Brazil – Fernando Harms, Hans Earlich, Chile – Kristen Lia Stoner, Antonio Rivera, United States – Sergio Pallottelli, Italy/United States . By Peru, each year we invite different teachers and young flutists who stand out and become performers and teachers. They are also representatives of the various regions of the country, such as Arequipa, Trujillo, Cusco and Lima. Among them stand out: Pedro Alfaro - Manuel Carranza - Daniel Gonzáles - Joel Mayta - Juan Carlos Rodríguez - Joe Rodríguez - Sini Rueda - Lucía Seijas - Natalia Usquiano - Paul Valdivia and César Vivanco. We also have the young conductor Gonzalo Sánchez and the Symphony Orchestra of 200 years.
Maestro César Vivanco Sánchez has been working tirelessly for 37 consecutive years in favor of preserving and promoting the study of the flute in Peru, organizing festivals, composing works for solo flute and concerts for flute and orchestra, in addition to his research book " Con el Alma en los Labios ”, where he presents the musical material of one of the greatest composers of Creole music in Peru, Felipe Pinglo Alva.
