Severino Gazzelloni (Roccasecca, January 5, 1919), was an Italian flutist. Gazzelloni was the principal flautist with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Rome for 30 years and dedicatee of many works. Composers including Luciano Berio (Sequenza I for solo flute, 1958), Pierre Boulez, Bruno Maderna and Igor Stravinsky wrote pieces for him.

François Devienne (Joinville, 31 January 1759) was a French composer and professor for flute at the Paris Conservatory. He was active in Paris as a flautist, bassoonist and composer, and played bassoon at the Paris Opera. He wrote successful operas in the 1790s, including Les visitandines (1792) which brought him much success.
